Chilean architect commited to social housing, Alejandro Aravena, wins Pritzker Prize


"The role of the architect is now being challenged to serve greater social and humanitarian needs"

Could this be the end of "starchitects" who produce for the 1%?

Aravena is the architect famous for his "Elemental" social housing, which involves residents in the design process and keeps their communities within cities (rather than relegate them to the margins with no infrastructure).
