I've been reading Intimacies of Four Continents by Lisa Lowe lately and thought it might be useful for our class discussion on Wednesday, in connecting coloniality to modern liberalism, gendered-racial projects, settler colonialism in the Americas, the trans-Atlantic slave trade, coolie migrant labor from China and South Asia, and more.
The book is available (on reserve) at the Rivera Library, but attached is a shortened article from Ann Stoler's edited collection Haunted by Empire. Hopefully y'all enjoy!
